DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced updates to the Governor’s senior staff.
Lauren Larson will be transitioning from her role as Director of the Colorado Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) and Jesse Marks is now serving as the Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs.
“We thank Director Larson for her dedicated service to Coloradans. Colorado’s strong economy with record reserves and prudent investments reflects Director Larson’s expertise and service. Director Larson’s commitment to our state’s fiscal strength benefits Coloradans now and for generations to come,” said Gov. Polis.
Director Larson has served the state of Colorado since 2012 and was appointed by Governor Polis in 2018. Previously she worked at the White House OMB as the Chief of the Treasury Branch for Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. The Polis administration will immediately conduct a search for a new OSPB Director.
Gov. Polis announced the hire of Jesse Marks as the Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs. Prior to joining the Polis Administration, Jesse spent the last half-decade with Schmidt Futures philanthropy, where he led programs related to democratic participation and government innovation before taking responsibility for overall financial planning and operations. Before joining Schmidt Futures, Jesse worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, an internal strategy advisor with the adidas Group, and as a team leader in the strategy and analytics arm of the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency. Jesse holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
