DENVER- Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order memorializing verbal action taken in response to the Lowline Fire in Gunnison County.
On July 27, 2023, Governor Polis verbally declared a disaster emergency in response to the Lowline Fire in Gunnison County. The Executive Order activates the Colorado Emergency Operations Plan and allocates funds for costs associated with the State’s fire suppression, response, consequence management, mitigation, and recovery efforts related to the fire.
This Executive Order also amends a previous Executive Order, D 2020 171, issued on August 22, 2020, in response to the Pine Gulch Fire in Mesa and Garfield Counties. The amendment extends the duration provision for funding in D 2020 171 for an additional 24 months to ensure the previously allocated funds remain available for state agencies.
