DENVER - Today, Governor Polis took action in response to the Marshall Fire signing Executive Order D 2022 012.
Governor Polis amended and extended Executive Orders D 2022 004 and D 2022 005 concerning the disaster emergency due to the Marshall Fire in Boulder County. The Executive Order returns $10 million from the Disaster Emergency Fund (DEF) to the State Emergency Reserve Cash Fund (SER) and releases the Colorado National Guard from employment for the Marshall Fire.
On December 30, 2021, Governor Polis declared a state of disaster emergency in response to the Marshall Fire in Boulder County and activated the State of Colorado Emergency Operations Plan. In the two months since the disaster, the state has worked closely at the local to federal level to help connect victims of the disaster to financial aid and unemployment assistance, acted rapidly to provide tax relief, and is partnering with Colorado music industry leaders and Community Foundation Boulder County on a virtual benefit concert with ticket proceeds going directly towards relief for impacted Coloradans.
