DENVER — Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera welcomed Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff to Colorado, on a visit highlighting the transformative impact of the federal American Rescue Plan stimulus funding that, combined with the Polis-Primavera Administration’s work saving Coloradans money and supporting small businesses, has provided real relief for Coloradans.
“Colorado’s strong economy is growing stronger every day as we add good-paying jobs, but prices are still going up which is why we need to take action to reduce costs and save Coloradans money, and we are proud to welcome Secretary Yellen and Second Gentleman Emhoff to our great state,” said Governor Polis.
“We are honored to share with Secretary Yellen and Second Gentleman Emhoff the ways that Colorado is thinking innovatively, and acting boldly to make sure that these funds make a real impact in the lives of the people we serve,” said Lt. Governor Primavera.
On Friday, Governor Polis, Lt. Gov Primavera, Secretary Yellen, and Second Gentleman Emhoff visited the Mi Casa Resource Center and met with recipients of transformative federal, state, and local support for workforce development and job training programs.
Colorado has over 674,000 small businesses that employ more than one million Coloradans. The state’s innovative and creative use of federal, state, and local funding has provided real relief for Coloradans and strengthened Colorado’s strong economy so that every Coloradan can thrive.
