DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today appointed Jaclyn K. C. Brown and Neeti Vasant Pawar to the Colorado Court of Appeals. Brown’s appointment fills a vacancy occasioned by the retirement of the Honorable Karen M. Ashby. Pawar’s appointment fills a vacancy occasioned by the resignation of the Honorable Laurie A. Booras.
Brown is a District Court Judge in the 17th Judicial District, a position she has held since 2016. Her docket is split between domestic relations and civil matters. Previously, she was a Partner (2013-2016) and an Associate (2005-2013) at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP. Brown earned her B.A. from the University of Colorado in 2002, and her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2005.
Pawar is Owner and Member at Neeti Pawar LLC, which she founded in 2008. Her practice consists of mediation, investigations, and appeals. She serves as a family law mediator, as well as an investigator in employment law matters. Previously, she was a Partner (2002-2008) and an Associate (1997-2002) at DiManna & Jackson LLP, and a trial attorney with the Denver Municipal Public Defenders Office (1995-1997). Pawar earned her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991 and her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1994.
Brown’s appointment is effective May 31, 2019. Pawar’s appointment is effective immediately.
