DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and DonorsChoose announced that an additional $1.2 Million in Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) funding will be used to fund project submissions from 2,348 Colorado educators around the state who did not receive funding in August.
“This support for education will get Colorado teachers needed help for students to succeed in the classroom and beyond. From art supplies to education materials to technology and more, teachers are using this investment to help our next generation fulfill their potential,” said Governor Jared Polis.
Earlier this year, Governor Polis announced $2.7 Million in GEER funding for Colorado educators, which supported more than 5,000 projects. This funding builds on last year’s funding, which helped support projects on everything from Literacy & Language, to STEM, and Life Skills for 7,368 teachers and 1,385 schools.
Coloradans can continue to support teachers and their project through DonorsChoose and teachers can still submit their projects for funding. Colorado teachers can click here to learn more about this opportunity.
