Protecting Colorado Consumers From Ticket Sale Scams, Keeping Colorado’s Roads Safe, Increasing Prenatal Care, Supporting Colorado’s Veterans, Building a Colorado For All, and Making Menstrual Products Free in Schools, Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed bills into law during ceremonies at Red Rocks Amphitheater and the Governor’s Residence at Boettcher Mansion. 

At Red Rocks Amphitheater, Governor Polis signed HB24-1378 - Consumer Protection in Event Ticket Sales, sponsored by Representatives William Lindstedt and Alex Valdez, and Senators Tom Sullivan and Bob Gardner to protect Colorado consumers from ticket scam sales, ensuring Coloradans can enjoy Colorado’s world-class music and events scene without fear of being scammed.

“Taylor’s worldwide Eras Tour opened many people's eyes to the Bad Blood between Coloradans and Hoax ticketing scams. This bill protects concert-goers from a Labyrinth of hidden fees and helps ensure Coloradans don't have another Cruel Summer filled with fraudulent tickets. Today, Coloradans are closer than ever to being Out of the Woods from scams,” said Governor Polis.

This afternoon Governor Polis will sign the following bills into law in ceremonies at the Governor’s Residence and Boettcher Mansion.

  • SB24-065 - Mobile Electronic Devices & Motor Vehicle Driving, sponsored by Senators Chris Hansen and Rhonda Fields, and Representatives Meg Froelich and David Ortiz.
    • “Too many Coloradans suffer a major injury or even lose a loved one to distracted driving on the road. We are focusing on making Colorado one of the top ten safest states, and this law will make our roads safer for everyone,” said Governor Polis. 

 

  • SB24-175 - Improving Perinatal Health Outcomes, sponsored by Senators Rhonda Fields and Janet Buckner, and Representatives Barbara McLachlan and Iman Jodeh. 
  • SB24-182 - Immigrant Identification Document Issuance, sponsored by Senators Julie Gonzales and Jeff Bridges, and Representatives Tim Hernandez and Elizabeth Velasco. 
  • SB24-195 - Protect Vulnerable Road Users, sponsored by Senators Faith Winter and Lisa Cutter, and Representatives Mandy Lindsay and William Lindstedt.  
  • HB24-1063 - Addressing Abbreviated School Days, sponsored by Representatives Mary Young and Lorena García, Senators Chris Kolker, and Barbara Kirkmeyer.
  • HB24-1164 - Free Menstrual Products to Students, sponsored by Representatives Brianna Titone and Jenny Willford, and Senators Janet Buckner and Faith Winter.
    • “This bill creates more access to women’s health products and I am proud that the state is stepping up to ensure all students can succeed and thrive in the classroom without worrying about paying for the care products they need,” said Governor Polis.
