DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis met with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, Senator Michael Bennet, and Congressman Joe Neguse for a discussion on the need to make long-term investments in restoring forests to protect them from catastrophic wildfire. This was followed by a tour to view a section of the fire area, the extent of the damage, infrastructure involved and downstream concerns, as well as the work that is in progress for recovery and restoration. Later, the group traveled to Olander Farms/Root Shoot Malting for a farm tour.
