DENVER - Today, Governor Polis provided an update on the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was joined by Dr. Rachel Herlihy, State Epidemiologist, who shared an update to the state’s modeling.

COLORADO - Today, Governor Jared Polis and Black Hills Energy announced another major step in reducing pollution in Colorado and saving ratepayers money on electricity. Black Hills Energy now joins all other major utilities across Colorado - together responsible for 99% of fossil-fired generation - to reduce air pollution and emissions by at least 80% by 2030 by filing  a Clean Energy Plan as part of its upcoming Electric Resource Plan.

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis and Congressman Ken Buck released the following joint statement on recent events in Washington, D.C. 

DENVER - Governor Jared Polis and Jill Hunsaker Ryan Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) sent a letter to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield urging the CDC to allocate a portion of the funds designated in the CARES Act Unemployment Extension (H.R.113) for high risk and under-served populations to the state of Colorado. 

DENVER - CDOT has received approval from the Colorado Transportation Commission for a plan to spend $134 million in federal stimulus for transportation. The approved plan advances projects from the department’s strategic pipeline of projects that focuses on the state’s most pressing transportation priorities.

DENVER - Governor Polis took action in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Gov. Polis extended an Executive Order providing relief to public utility customers impacted by COVID-19 and Executive Order temporarily suspending certain statutes and rules to expand healthcare workforces for hospitals and other inpatient treatment facilities due to COVID-19.
