DENVER - As Colorado gears up to celebrate National Public Lands Day on September 28, Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) are announcing new data underscoring the continued growth and importance of outdoor recreation in the state's economy. Today, Governor Polis and CPW released an updated economic impact and outdoor recreation participation report highlighting that in 2023, outdoor recreationists in Colorado spent over $52.1 billion dollars on trips and equipment, contributing to a total economic output of $65.8 billion.

GOLDEN - Today, Governor Polis joined global leaders at the Colorado School of Mines for the Global Leaders Energy Summit to discuss Colorado's nation-leading work in clean energy. Colorado remains steadfast in reaching the administration’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2040. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Public Safety announced new data showing a steady decline in crime across categories in Colorado following the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report showing crime rates have declined nationally. 

LITTLETON - Today, Governor Polis helped kick off two new facilities that will support Colorado’s climate goals and protect the state for future generations. First, Governor Polis attended the grand opening of the new agrivoltaics Solar Farm at Denver Botanic Gardens’s Chatfield Farms. This solar farm, funded through Denver’s Climate Action, Sustainability & Resiliency, will create clean energy to power the entire site while generating low-cost energy for 150 Denver Public School families. The Governor joined Denver Mayor Mike Johnston at the Chatfield ribbon cutting. 

LAKEWOOD — Governor Polis and the Division of Criminal Justice announced the 15 Colorado organizations across ten counties who are the recipients of the State Multidisciplinary Crime Prevention and Crisis Intervention funding (CPCI), a total of $3 million. 

DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Colorado-based Solid Power, Inc. (Nasdaq: SLDP), an industry-leading developer of next-generation all-solid-state battery technology, plans to expand its presence in the state. 

 COLORADO SPRINGS - Today, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera joined members of Sports Corp, and the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region to celebrate the announcement that the Senior Games would return to Colorado in 2025. Competitors in the Colorado Senior Games can go on to compete in the National Senior Games. The event will promote health, wellness, and camaraderie among senior athletes, while also highlighting the vibrant spirit of Colorado’s senior community. 

DENVER - Today, Lt. Governor Primavera and Director of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care visited a school-based health center at George Washington High School to learn more about the importance of these facilities to students and communities. The Lt. Governor was joined by a student, school staff, leadership from Denver Health and Denver Public Schools, the Youth Healthcare Alliance, and Senator Janice Marchman and Representative Emily Sirota. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and leadership from Colorado WINS signed the new partnership agreement after the agreement was ratified by members. The new agreement goes into effect today and includes predictable wage increases, further clarity on working conditions including schedules and hiring, as well as language that strengthens the labor-management relationship.
