    Gov. Polis joins legislators to highlight bipartisan reinsurance proposal

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today joined a bipartisan group of legislators to highlight a reinsurance bill to help lower health care costs. HB19-1168 will reduce insurance premiums for individuals and families. 

    “We must address the high cost of health care, especially in our rural and mountain communities,” Governor Jared Polis said. “We have heard from Coloradans across the state about their struggles to afford insurance. This reinsurance program is a strategy that will help provide immediate relief by lowering costs for Colorado families.”

    Gov. Polis orders flags lowered to honor former U.S. Rep. John Dingell

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today ordered flags lowered to half-staff on all public buildings statewide now until sunset on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 to honor former U.S. Rep. John Dingell, and as ordered by President Trump. Former Rep. Dingell died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019.

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today appointed Corinne Magid to the Jefferson County Court in the First Judicial District. Magid fills a vacancy created by the appointment of Ryan Stuart to the 18th Judicial District Court.

    State government offices in Denver area will close early today

    DENVER — Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 — State of Colorado government offices in Denver and surrounding suburban counties will close at 2 p.m. due to extreme weather conditions.  

    State facilities essential to public health and safety will maintain regular operating schedules and “essential personnel” will maintain regular schedules.
