BOULDER — Today, Governor Jared Polis, state and local officials visited Boulder Valley School District’s (BSVD) electric bus fleet and housing developments. Gov. Polis’s budget proposal includes funding for the electrification of school buses and housing that’s affordable.

DENVER — Governor Jared Polis appointed Anthony Gherardini as Executive Director, Department of Personnel & Administration. Most recently Mr. Gherardini has served as Deputy Director, Office of Behavioral Health, Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). 

DENVER - Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Governors of 21 states, Washington, D.C., Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands sent a bipartisan letter urging Congress to include legislation in the final 2022 National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 that would allow states with legalized medical or adult-use cannabis to operate safely under the national banking system. 

DENVER - Today Governor Polis announced that Elsmere Education, an educational technology company, has chosen to expand its operations in Colorado, adding 138 new jobs over the next eight years. 

DENVER - Today on the west steps of the state capitol, Governor Jared Polis celebrated a group of Colorado children ages 5 to 11 who participated in the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine trials. Governor Polis was joined by Dr. Eric Simoes, Primary Investigator of the Pfizer trial at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

DENVER — Today, Governor Polis and Denver Zoo partnered to host a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Zoo for kids ages 5 and up. Governor Polis met with kids getting the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and also met with those who received their COVID-19 booster shots (Pfizer and Moderna) as well as flu shots at the event. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis released a statement following reports that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act with bipartisan support, sending it to President Biden’s desk for signature. 

AURORA — Today, Governor Jared Polis joined David Brumbaugh, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Children’s Hospital Colorado to visit with children and their families at Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) in Aurora, as the kids received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at a clinic for children ages 5 to 11. The Governor was on hand to encourage Colorado’s youngest individuals to get the vaccine while also congratulating those who got their shot. 

DENVER - Governor Jared Polis today ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday, November 5, 2021, in honor of Joes Fire Department Firefighter Larry Wyant who passed away October 26, 2021, battling a fire in a cornfield when winds shifted.
