    Governor Polis, DNR & CDOT Release Big Game Policy Report

    GOLDEN — At an event in Golden today, Governor Polis, the Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with the Department of Transportation (CDOT), released a report today detailing options to further protect Colorado’s wildlife habitat and wildlife corridors, and improve conditions for Colorado’s iconic big game species. The Governor also highlighted the state adding dedicated staff to work directly on this partnership, and support a comprehensive and collaborative approach between CDOT and DNR on the conservation of our wildlife and increased motorist safety.

    Colorado Disability Funding Committee Launches College Themed License Plate Configuration Auction

    DENVER- The Colorado Disability Funding Committee launched an auction for the rights to use several Colorado license plate configurations with references to Colorado colleges and universities. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund grants for new and innovative ideas that improve the quality of life and independence of people with disabilities in Colorado.

    Governor Polis, Partners Announce Afghan Evacuee Support Fund to Support New Coloradans

    DENVER- Gov. Jared Polis, in partnership with fiscal sponsor Rose Community Foundation, announced the Colorado Afghan Evacuee Support Fund to ensure that Colorado is prepared to welcome Afghan evacuees and connect them with community resources. Contributions will fund grants to organizations in Colorado that provide refugee resettlement services, health and mental health services for newcomers, legal services to help evacuees navigate available pathways for permanency in the U.S., and other forms of needed assistance.

    Gov. Polis Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

    988 Crisis Hotline Enterprise Board of Directors In 2020, the Federal Communications Commission adopted rules to establish 988 as the new, nationwide, 3-digit phone number for Americans in crisis to connect with suicide prevention and mental health crisis counselors. The Enterprise Board of Directors imposes a 988 surcharge and a prepaid wireless 988 charge, funds the 988 crisis hotline, and works with third parties to provide crisis outreach, stabilization, and acute care
