Legislative Leaders & Governor Stepping Up to Provide COVID Relief

DENVER -  Tonight, Governor Jared Polis shared specifics of the scope of the Special Session of the 72nd General Assembly, scheduled to commence on Monday, November 30 at 10am. 

DENVER - Governor Polis participated in a call with President-Elect Biden and Vice-President-Elect Harris today as part of the National Governors Association Executive Committee. 

DENVER -  Governor Jared Polis provided an update on the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gov. Polis was joined today by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, Senate President Leroy Garcia, and Speaker-designate Alec Garnett.

DENVER - Governor Polis and House and Senate Democratic leadership released a joint statement this evening: 

“Legislative leaders and the Governor’s office have been having productive conversations on how we can step up to help provide additional relief to Colorado businesses and hardworking families during these challenging times. Coloradans continue to wait for Congress to act, but we are committed to doing what we can as a state.”

DENVER -  Today Governor Jared Polis appointed Melina Hernandez to serve on the Arapahoe County Court in the 18th Judicial District. She will fill a vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable Don Toussaint to the District Court. The vacancy is effective January 12, 2021. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis declared the third week of November “Colorado Recycles Week.” Alongside First Gentleman Marlon Reis, Suzanne Jones, Executive Director of Eco-Cycle, Kristin Kim, Executive Director of Recycle Colorado, and Timothy Garcia, Principal of Red Hawk Elementary, Governor Polis celebrated recycling in Colorado while addressing the continued challenge of expanding access to recycling across the state.
