    Governor Polis Takes Action in Response to Wildfires & COVID-19 

    Governor Polis issued Executive Orders memorializing verbal disaster declarations due to the Lefthand Fire, East Troublesome Fire, and Calwood Fire. These Executive Orders enable State agencies to coordinate, and make resources available for fire suppression, response, consequence management, and recovery efforts.

    Governor Polis & Lt. Governor Primavera Honor Veterans

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera released a statement in honor of Veterans Day.

    Governor Amends Executive Order

    Governor Polis today amended an Executive Order he signed in July designating Attorney General Phil Weiser as the State’s prosecutor, to investigate and potentially prosecute any crimes related to the death of Elijah McClain in Aurora, Colorado in August 2019.

    Governor Polis Announces Millions in Education Grants for Colorado

    Governor Polis announced today the first round of Response, Innovation, and Student Equity (RISE) Fund awardees. In September, Gov. Polis announced the $32.7 million RISE fund supports high-needs school districts, charter schools, and public institutions of higher education to address the learning challenges related to the economic, social, and health impacts of COVID-19 in a manner that creates sustainable innovations that improve student learning, close equity gaps, and enhance operational efficiency for pre-K-12 through higher education.

    Recruitment of AmeriCorps Members Begins to Expand COVID Containment Response Corps

    DENVER —The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will bring on an additional 100 AmeriCorps members to serve in the COVID-19 Containment Response Corps (CCRC) in staggered nine month terms over the next year. AmeriCorps members will support case investigation, contact tracing, resource coordination, test result notification, isolation and quarantine monitoring, and other activities to contain the spread of COVID-19 within Colorado.

    State Launches #ShopLocalColorado to Promote Local Holiday Spending

    Governor Polis and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) today announced #ShopLocalColorado to support Colorado small businesses in advance of the holiday shopping season. Shoppers can visit the Shop Local Colorado website to see a list of shop local campaigns in communities across Colorado.
