DENVER - To promote Colorado’s agriculture, geothermal, and small business sectors, Governor Polis is joining a delegation of Colorado leaders this week as part of the Biennial of the Americas Summit. At the summit, the Governor will meet with local leaders to strengthen the economic and cultural connections between Colorado and Costa Rica while participating in the Biennial of the Americas Summit, to bolster Colorado’s international partnerships.

DENVER — Today, the Colorado Disability Funding Committee launched an auction for the rights to 10 official state license plate configurations with cannabis-themed phrases including NUGGET, COHEMP, REEFER, and GRASS. Auction proceeds are used to provide grants to support disability application assistance and innovative programs designed to benefit people with disabilities. The auction has been running annually since 2021 and has generated over $96,000.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Andrew C. Poland to the 1st Judicial District Court. This appointment fills a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Ann Meinster and is effective June 1, 2024.

DENVER - In response to persistent and sharp increases in congenital syphilis, the Polis administration is organizing an all-government, comprehensive response to save the lives of babies. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will facilitate coordination between the Behavioral Health Administration, Department of Local Affairs, Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, Department of Human Services, Department of Corrections, Department of Public Safety, and Department of Regulatory Agencies to foster even greater collaboration in response to the growing epidemic.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Hollie G. Wheelwright to the Mineral County Court in the 12th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the retirement of the Honorable Ruth Acheson and is effective May 1, 2024.
