DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed the following bipartisan bills into law during a ceremony in the Governor’s Office.

EVERGREEN - Today Governor Polis and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg visited the construction progress at Floyd Hill between Evergreen and Idaho Springs.

STAUNTON STATE PARK - Today, Governor Polis visited Staunton State Park to celebrate its selection as Colorado’s ‘March Madness’ favorite state park. To celebrate Colorado’s 42 state parks, Governor Polis hosted a bracket where Coloradans voted on their favorite. The finalists came down to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Staunton State Park, and Coloradans chose Staunton.

DENVER – Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Higher Education is urging all high school seniors and their families to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) as part of the FAFSA Week of Action which takes place April 15-19. Earlier this month, the White House and the U.S. Department of Education announced FAFSA Week of Action, a national initiative that stresses the importance of completing the FAFSA which aims to make postsecondary education more affordable.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed HB24-1007, Prohibit Residential Occupancy Limits, sponsored by Representatives Manny Rutinel and Javier Mabrey, and Senators Tony Exum and Julie Gonzales, eliminating discriminatory occupancy limits in Colorado and expanding housing opportunities Coloradans can afford. The Governor and bill sponsors were joined on the west steps of the state capitol by Coloradans in support of this new law.

AURORA - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Energy Office (CEO), joined Rewiring America and Google.org to launch the Colorado Electrification Calculator. This tool will connect Coloradans with discounts on electric appliances such as heat pumps, electric vehicles, electric panel upgrades and more, saving them money. The announcement was made at the Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC facility in Aurora, which trains technicians to install and repair heat pump technology.

FRISCO - Today, Governor Polis visited Frisco and discussed Colorado’s efforts to create more housing that Coloradans can afford in every corner of the state. The Governor’s first visit of the day was to Granite Park Workforce Housing Development, which will include housing for CDOT workers in Summit County.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis made an appointment to the District Attorney position for the 16th Judicial District.

FRISCO - Today, Governor Jared Polis, Department of Natural Resources Director Dan Gibbs, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced a new round of grants to provide local Colorado communities with help to reduce human-bear conflicts through the Human-Bear Conflict Reduction Community Grant Program. The application deadline is May 24, 2024.
