DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Higher Education announced that 2023 Colorado Free Application Days saved students $2.8 Million dollars in college application fees, or between $50-80 per application, which could be hundreds in savings for students who apply to multiple schools. DENVER - The Colorado Disability Funding Committee is thrilled to partner with the Western Stock Show Association and Colorado Auctioneers Foundation to auction the rights to use 13 unique Colorado license plate configurations. Proceeds from the auction will fund grants for new and innovative ideas that improve the quality of life and independence of people with disabilities, and contribute to the National Western Stock Show Scholarship Trust.
FORT COLLINS — Today, Lieutenant Governor Primavera visited Coyote Ridge Elementary School to highlight the recent success of the Reading Corps program that Colorado AmeriCorps members are currently leading in 66 schools across the state. This includes routine one on one or small group tutoring sessions for students to help them achieve grade-level reading. Colorado’s AmeriCorps programming is led by Serve Colorado, which is part of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and the Reading Corps service program is carried out by Colorado Youth for a Change.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) announced grant recipients for the Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative, establishing two new partnerships in south-central Colorado and the eastern plains. First launched in 2021, the Initiative funds regional coalitions that bring broad interests together to ensure that Colorado’s lands and waters thrive to sustain healthy wildlife and treasured outdoor recreation opportunities.
