DENVER - This afternoon, Governor Jared Polis verbally issued a disaster declaration authorizing use of the Colorado National Guard to ensure people can access the resources they need to stay safe during the winter cold snap and storm. The order activates the Colorado State Emergency Operations Plan and directs the Department of Public Safety and its Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to take all necessary and appropriate state actions to assist the affected jurisdictions with their response, recovery, and mitigation efforts. Temperatures are projected to drop into single digits with wind chills below zero.

COLORADO SPRINGS – Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) will join Microchip, a leading producer of semiconductor devices, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, to announce a historic preliminary memorandum of terms (PMT) resulting in $90 million to modernize and expand a Microchip fabrication facility in Colorado Springs as part of $162 million in overall direct funding to support the company's semiconductor supply chain.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced the first of multiple investments using stimulus funding from the U.S. Treasury’s Capital Projects Fund (CPF) program. The Polis administration will use $113 million from CPF to make major, long-term improvements, including expanding the state’s broadband infrastructure and connecting Colorado homes without internet access.

As directed by SB22-199, Native Pollinating Insects Protection Study, sponsored by Senators Sonya Jaquez Lewis and Kevin Priola, and Representatives Cathy Kipp and Meg Froelich, signed by Governor Polis on May 27, 2022, the study assesses the health of Colorado’s native pollinators, evaluates state policies for safeguarding pollinators, and makes recommendations on how to preserve and protect pollinators in Colorado.
