    DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings and properties immediately until sunset on January 26, 2023, in honor and remembrance of the victims of the horrific tragedy in Monterey Park, California as directed by President Biden. Flags will be flown at half-staff starting immediately until sunset, January 26, 2023.

    Colorado’s Unemployment Rate Declines Again As Polis Administration Continues to Save People Money & Bring Good-Paying Jobs to Coloradans

    DENVER — Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment announced that Colorado’s unemployment rate declined in December to 3.3%, below the national rate of 3.5%.  Earlier this week, Governor Polis delivered his State of the State address, where he highlighted the administration’s ongoing work in partnership with the legislature to boost Colorado’s workforce and support the state’s strong economy. In that address, Gov. Polis pointed out that there are currently two available jobs for every unemployed person, with more work to be done to enhance the state’s workforce.

In Colorado, ThinkOrbital will conduct research and development for its scalable, affordable, and autonomously assembled space structures, the ThinkPlatform, that will accelerate the commercialization of the new space economy and advance Colorado’s growing role in that transformation.

    Colorado Re-Introduces Three Retired License Plates to Benefit State’s Disability Funding Committee

    DENVER - Today, the State of Colorado released three previously retired license plate backgrounds with proceeds from their sale benefiting the Colorado Disability Funding Committee, providing grants for disability application assistance and innovative programs that increase the quality of life and independence of Coloradans with disabilities. These license plates can be purchased for use from county motor vehicle offices state-wide or online for a $25 annual fee.

    Governor Polis Formalizes Action Taken in Response to Extreme Winter Weather in December

    DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order memorializing the December 20, 2022 verbal order declaring a disaster emergency due to extreme winter weather throughout the State of Colorado, deploying the National Guard to respond to and support the extreme winter weather response, and activating the State Emergency Operations Plan authorizing all State departments and agencies to take action necessary and requested by the Director of the Office of Emergency Management.
