    Gov. Polis Signs Bipartisan Bills into Law to Cut Red Tape, Support Colorado’s Teachers & National Guard Servicemembers

    DENVER — Today, Governor Polis signed bipartisan legislation into law to support Colorado's national guard servicemembers, cut red tape, and reduce interstate barriers to strengthen Colorado’s workforce. Enacting the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact makes it easier for people, including eligible military spouses, to transfer their certificates when moving to Colorado. This added flexibility is the latest in a series of steps the Polis administration in partnership with the legislature has taken to advocate for Colorado as the best and rightful home for Space Command which the Governor, Lt. Governor, and local leaders pushed for this week in a letter to the President.

    Gov. Polis Signs Bill Expanding Energy Efficient Building Upgrades Eligible for Funding, Saving People Money 

    DENVER — Today, Governor Polis signed HB23-1005, New Energy Improvement Program Changes, sponsored by Representatives Jenny Willford and Brianna Titone and Senators Sonya Jaquez Lewis and Janice Marchman. This law expands the New Energy Improvement Program eligible building upgrades to include funding for commercial building owners to make energy saving, water-saving, or resiliency improvements over extended payments to save them money.

    Governor Polis, State Legislators Announce Plans to Save People Money on Energy, Cut Red Tape to Accelerate Clean Energy Transition & Ensure that Colorado Continues to be a National Leader

    DENVER- Today, Governor Polis, Rep. Cathy Kipp, Rep. Ruby Dickson, Rep. Mike Weissman, Senator Chris Hansen, state lawmakers, and community members discussed a historic bill package that will save people money, cut red tape to accelerate the clean energy transition, and advance Colorado’s position as a leader in clean energy nationwide. The legislative package will help achieve 100% renewable energy in Colorado by 2040 and save Coloradans by increasing opportunities and renewable energy tax incentives for people and businesses including reducing the cost of electric vehicles in Colorado by $5,000, electric bikes by $800, and between $3,000 and $500 for heat pumps depending on the technology type.

    Polis-Primavera Administration Celebrates International Women’s Day, Honors the Historic Accomplishments & Legacies of Colorado Women Throughout History

    DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis and Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera honored International Women’s Day and celebrated women’s historic contributions to shaping Colorado. Since day one, Governor Polis and Lieutenant Governor Primavera have worked to build a Colorado for All, and celebrating women’s achievements is an important part of that work. A majority of the Governor’s cabinet and  senior staff team are women, and this year, Colorado’s General Assembly is comprised of 50% women.

    Governor Polis Takes Action in Response to COVID-19

    DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order extending the COVID-19 disaster declaration. The disaster declaration allows agencies to continue to access state and federal funding for recovery efforts, to rapidly respond to changes in the public health environment, and to support the healthcare system to remain appropriately staffed and prepared to respond to public health.

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, joined by state legislators, teachers, after-school providers, and community members, announced historic bipartisan investments in evidence-based math support for Colorado students. The legislation, sponsored by State Representative Barbara McLachlan, Assistant Minority Leader  Rose Pugliese, State Senator Janice Marchman, and Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen, provides unprecedented support for math instruction and improvement for students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade to get every Colorado student on track to math proficiency.

    Gov. Polis Signs Bipartisan Joint Budget Committee Supplemental Bill Package

    DENVER — Yesterday, Governor Polis signed the final three bills of the Joint Budget Committee’s bipartisan supplemental bill package which will allow the government to continue to serve Coloradans. The three laws provide essential support to local food banks and pantries across the state, allow Colorado to secure federal CHIPS Act funding, and continue to invest in wildfire mitigation efforts and projects.

    Polis Administration Announces Amprius Technologies Inc. Chooses Brighton, Colorado for New Gigawatt-Scale Lithium-Ion Factory

    DENVER  – Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) formally announced today that Amprius Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:AMPX), a leader in lithium-ion batteries with its Silicon Anode Platform, has signed a letter of intent for a 775,000 square foot facility in Brighton, Colorado. Amprius plans to establish a gigawatt scale factory to support lithium-ion battery production for the U.S. electric mobility market.
