OLATHE – Today, Gov. Polis and the Colorado Employee Ownership Office, housed within the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), announced that Rocky Mountain Steel, Inc., based in Olathe, Colorado, is now 100% employee owned. The company transitioned to a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in June with support from the Employee Ownership Office. 

DENVER - Today, the Governor appointed Robert N. Gregory to the Summit County Court in the 5th Judicial District. This vacancy was created by the Honorable Edward J. Casias not standing for retention, and the appointment is effective January 4, 2025. 

DENVER - Earlier this week, in partnership with DonorsChoose, Governor Polis announced $2.7 million in funding to help Colorado educators purchase resources for their classrooms that will help Colorado students succeed. Today, the Governor and DonorsChoose announced that the window for submissions has closed, with more than 9,000 projects submitted in the first 24 hours. Colorado expects to fund more than 5,000 projects immediately from teachers across Colorado.

DENVER - Today, the Governor appointed Pamela E. Johnston to the Kiowa County Court in the 15th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the retirement of the Honorable Gary W. Davis, and the appointment is effective September 1, 2024. 

COMMERCE CITY - Today at Dupont Elementary in the Adams-14 School District, Governor Polis, in partnership with DonorsChoose, announced $2.7 million in funding from the Governor Emergency Education Relief (GEER) to help educators purchase new resources and supplies that will support student success in the classroom this school year. Teachers can receive up to $600 in supplies per classroom while supplies last.
