BOULDER — Today, the Sundance Institute selected Boulder, Colorado as a finalist to host the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027. If selected, hosting the Festival in Colorado will create new jobs, attract out-of-state visitors, and boost winter tourism that will support small businesses in Boulder and surrounding areas while elevating Colorado’s creative industries. 

DENVER - Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis released the following statement wishing all Colorado Olympians the best of luck at the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

AURORA - Yesterday, Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera joined AmeriCorps, Serve Colorado, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to expand economic mobility for Coloradans. This first-of-its-kind MOU resulted in AmeriCorps teams being sent to Colorado for each of the past three years to work on free tax preparation in low income communities. 

COLORADO SPRINGS - Today, Governor Polis, joined by representatives from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, US Department of Commerce, Colorado Springs Mayor Mobolade, and others, celebrated the $75 million in CHIPS and Science Act funding recently awarded to Colorado Springs-based Entegris. This funding will create new, good-paying jobs and further establish Colorado as a Microchip Manufacturing Hub, and strengthen the state’s manufacturing and technology industries. 

DENVER – Today, Gov. Jared Polis, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), and the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) announced the preliminary selection of the first six recipients of the voter-approved Proposition 123 Equity program. These funds will provide investment capital for low- and middle-income multifamily affordable rental housing projects, supporting the creation of an estimated 628 affordable housing units. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Department of Regulatory Agencies’ (DORA) Division of Insurance (DOI), announced health insurance plans and premium savings for Coloradans in 2025 thanks to Colorado’s landmark reinsurance program. Coloradans will save $477 million on premiums and avoid a nearly 23% premium increase, which would occur if reinsurance did not exist.
