DENVER — Governor Polis today welcomed the announcement that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved additional funding to support disaster recovery efforts following the Cameron Peak, East Troublesome and Marshall Fires in Colorado. The Polis Administration has worked closely with the federal government to provide immediate and long term relief to disaster survivors and ensure communities have the necessary resources to build back quickly and more resiliently.

DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis signed eleven bills into law, including legislation to ensure Colorado’s rapidly growing population of aging Coloradans can thrive with additional supports for long-term services, workforce development opportunities, and access to livable communities by integrating aging policy and programs across state government, help prosecutors convict perpetrators by making lack of consent central to sexual assault charges, and protect healthcare workers’ private information to prevent doxxing.

DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis applauded the Biden administration’s decision to welcome Ukrainians to the United States and Colorado through the refugee resettlement system and pathways that reunify families. Last month, Governor Polis wrote to Secretary Antony J. Blinken of the US Department of State to inform the federal government that Colorado is ready to welcome refugees, provide support to Ukrainians. After meeting with Ukrainian Coloradans, Governor Polis asked Sec. Blinken and Sec. Mayorkas of the US Department of Homeland Security to increase immigration pathways for Ukrainians to the U.S.
