    Lt. Governor Primavera Honored for Public Policy Work on Cancer by the American Cancer Society

    WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, Lt. Governor and Director of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care Dianne Primavera received the National Distinguished Advocacy Award (NDAA), the highest national advocacy honor given by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). This award is a mark of distinction and accomplishment in the field of public policy advocacy pertaining to cancer.

    Governor Polis Takes Executive Action Providing Resources in Response to Pearl Fire in Larimer County

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis issued a verbal declaration of disaster emergency to provide support and resources in response to the Pearl Fire in Larimer County. This declaration authorizes the Colorado Department of Public Safety, the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and the Division of Fire Prevention and Control to assist in the response and recovery efforts. This declaration also authorizes the activation of the National Guard to assist with response and recovery efforts if deemed necessary by the Department of Public Safety.

    Governor Polis and Department of Commerce Break Ground on New Quantum Tech Park in Arvada

    ARVADA - Just months after being designated as a Quantum Tech Hub, Governor Polis joined Deputy Secretary Don Graves and the Department of Commerce to break ground on the new Quantum Tech Park in Arvada. The 70-acre site will be dedicated to elevating quantum technology and research in Colorado. The future site will help create up to 10,000 new jobs in Colorado by 2030, 80% of which will not require an advanced degree. Governor Polis and Deputy Secretary Graves were also joined by Rep. Brittany Pettersen, Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett, Colorado School of Mines President Paul Johnson, and leadership from the University of Colorado Boulder and Elevate Quantum.

    Governor Polis Discusses Colorado’s Leadership in Workforce Development and Breaks Ground on New Recycling Facility

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis discussed Colorado’s efforts to become a leader in recycling and creating a more sustainable future, provided a keynote address on Colorado’s leadership on workforce development, and joined the Department of Commerce to break ground on the new Quantum Tech Park in Arvada after Colorado was recently designated as a Quantum Tech Hub.

    Governor Polis Visits Meadowood Housing in Carbondale, Celebrates Workforce Housing Expansions in Colorado

    CARBONDALE - Today, Governor Polis visited the Meadowood Housing project, a completed 50-unit housing development built to address workforce housing needs for the staff of the Roaring Forks School District. 

    “Building housing that Coloradans can afford, and is close to work for our educators helps our rural communities thrive and our students succeed. Meadowood Housing will provide better housing options that local educators can actually afford while saving them time and money on their commute,” said Governor Polis.

    Governor Polis Celebrates Colorado State University Joining the Pac-12 Conference

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis celebrated that Colorado State University will be leaving the Mountain West Conference and joining the Pac-12 Conference. 

    “PAC-12 football is back in Colorado! Colorado is known for our outstanding athletic achievements and talented student-athletes, and I am thrilled to celebrate our student athletes at Colorado State University who are bringing Colorado’s world-class academic and athletic success to the Pac-12 Conference. Go Rams!” said Governor Polis.
