    Governor Polis Applauds National Monument Designation of Camp Hale and Tenmile Range & Urges President to Help Save People Money

    EAGLE COUNTY – Today, Governor Polis joined the President as he designated Camp Hale and the Tenmile Range as a national monument under the Antiquities Act. This new national designation, Camp Hale - Continental Divide National Monument, will ensure this important historical site and the surrounding public lands are protected and preserved for generations to come. This designation ensures key components of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Economy Act (CORE) which Governor Polis introduced while serving in Congress in 2010 are protected.

    Governor Polis Announces Fifth Annual Free Application Days

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Higher Education announced the fifth annual Colorado Free Application Days, allowing students to apply for free from Tuesday, Oct. 18 through Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, to public colleges and universities and several private institutions in Colorado.

    Gov. Polis Announces Staff Updates

    DENVER - Governor Polis announced staff updates today.

    Kate Siegel Shimko will be departing as the Governor’s Director of Boards and Commissions and transitioning into a new role with Colorado State University (CSU) System as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement. Siegel Shimko spent the past decade working for Governor Polis in the governor’s office, during his service in Congress, as national finance director and advisor.

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC) of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced the first 10 recipients of the Colorado State Outdoor Recreation grant. These grants promote economic development in Colorado’s vibrant outdoor recreation sector and have been awarded to organizations across the state from Alamosa to Cortez and Colorado Springs to Grand Junction.

    Governor Polis and Colorado Division of Criminal Justice Announce Grant Opportunity to Create Safer Streets, Locally

    Governor Polis Secures Pioneering Healthtech Company for New Colorado Headquarters

    DENVER – This morning at a meeting of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Virta Health, a health technology company and leader in type 2 diabetes reversal, has selected Colorado for its new headquarters. Under the Polis administration, Colorado has secured many new business headquarters that will create good-paying jobs for Coloradans.
