DENVER - Gov. Polis issued an Executive Order extending the declaration of state of disaster emergency due to the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Colorado, enabling State agencies to continue to properly coordinate for mitigation of disease spread, response, consequence management, and recovery efforts.
DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis appointed Michael P. Halpin to the Custer County Court in the 11th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the appointment of the Honorable Amanda Hunter to the District Court and is effective November 9, 2022.
THORNTON — Today, Governor Polis joined the Colorado School Safety Resource Center within the Colorado Department of Public Safety at the annual Safe School Summit to discuss strategies to make schools safer. The summit brings together important voices such as community leaders, school officials, parents, law enforcement and mental health professionals to learn and develop innovative strategies for school safety. FLOYD HILL - Today, Governor Polis, members of Colorado’s congressional delegation who represent the area, state legislators, local officials and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced the groundbreaking of the I-70 Floyd Hill project — a main focus of the Polis administration's transformative ten-year infrastructure plan. The project will rebuild a seven-mile stretch of I-70 from exit 248 northwest of Evergreen to exit 241 in eastern Idaho Springs and work to eliminate a bottleneck on one of the most congested stretches of the I-70 Mountain Corridor. Early construction begins this Fall, beginning with projects such as a new wildlife crossing at Genesee and roundabouts along US 40 between Evergreen and Floyd Hill, with major construction on the corridor starting in spring 2023.

Packard has been sworn-in to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Executive Board, in the role of State & Provincial Police Division General Chair. DENVER - Today, Governor Polis announced the nine Colorado schools, districts, and community partners awarded grant funding from the Response, Innovation, and Student Equity (RISE) Fund. These grants build upon the Polis Administration’s work investing in high-quality K-12 education to ensure all Colorado students can thrive, and provide bold support for students attending schools and districts in turnaround status.
PUEBLO - The Polis administration applauded an announcement from the Bureau of Reclamation that it will direct $60 million in federal funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) towards advancing the construction of the Arkansas Valley Conduit, a 130-mile pipeline project from Pueblo Reservoir east to Eads, Colorado that will deliver safe, clean drinking water to 50,000 people in 40 communities.
