988 Crisis Line Board of Directors

The 988 Crisis Hotline Enterprise Board of Directors works with the Colorado Public Utilities

Commission to set rates for a 988 surcharge for service users annually. The Enterprise also funds a nonprofit to provide intervention services and crisis care.

Delivering Real Results for Coloradans: Gov. Polis Celebrates Bold Action to Improve Education, Make Colorado Safer & Achieve 100% Renewable Energy as Laws Take Effect July 1

DENVER - In partnership with the legislature, Governor Polis signed a number of landmark bills into law this year, including legislation that takes effect on July 1, 2023, to reduce auto theft and make Colorado one of the ten safest states in the nation and take bold climate action towards achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040. Transformative legislation passed during this legislative session and signed into law by Gov. Polis will also see budget transfers to implement this work starting July 1, 2023.

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis, Secretary of State Jena Griswold, and leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties announced March 5, 2024 as the date for Colorado’s presidential primary. In 2019, Colorado became a Super Tuesday state.

Wyoming and Colorado Sign a Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Direct Air Capture

BOULDER – The State of Wyoming and State of Colorado announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding direct air capture (DAC) activity and development. The bipartisan inter-state agreement will focus on the DAC industry’s potential to complement existing and emerging industries and increase jobs and economic development in both states while simultaneously reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Governors Mark Gordon and Jared Polis announced the news during the Western Governor Association meeting today in Boulder, Colorado.

BOULDER- Last summer, in an effort to help meet his goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040, Governor Polis launched Heat Beneath Our Feet, a geothermal initiative spearheaded by the Governor and the Western Governors Association. Under Governor Polis’s leadership and in partnership with the legislature, Colorado continues to lead the nation on renewable energy and is well on its way toward achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040.

Governor Polis’s term as WGA Chair concludes at the end of the gathering.
